No excursions (sadly it was a working weekend
) but in Bucharest we’ve been experiencing freezing rain like I’ve never seen before in my years. There was nothing at the house except snow, but we had severe air frost in Bucharest. It’s brought down up to 1000 trees in the city alone, falling ice and branches have caused injuries and loss of damage to cars and property...

I imagine Siberian’s laughing, but it’s been quite dramatic.
The thaw is on today, and there’s ice crashing through the trees gathering more ice as it falls, and it’s quite noisy in the streets with this and ice falling from buildings.
It’s quite dangerous to walk on the pavements with overhanging icicles ready to drop... some are up to 1m long and quite weighty...
Beautiful but potentially deadly at the same time. Crash helmets a necessity to go out.

What sort of temperatures have you had compared to previous winters Clive?
Compared with previous years? Well hard to say really, I’d say warmer on average, when I first came here in 2001, Christmas was guaranteed snow, and I remember it being -21C one new-year (2012 I think) when we walked 15 minutes to a restaurant and by the time we got there I was starting to worry about my nose and ears freezing, because I didn’t wear a hat and scarf wrap, like Aura told me to...
The most obvious change in the last 18 years living here is the shift of appx. 6 weeeks of the winter, Christmasses are no longer white (last Christmas was +6C and the year before was +14C). Others have said the same so I’m not making it up.
The other change which is equally evident is more temperature fluctuation. It can go (well it did one one occasion) from -12C to +14C in less than 12 hours, and last weekend was -4C and now it’s +3C, it’s bouncing like a yo-yo, when previously the same degree of fluctuations occurred, but over weeks not hours.

Strange how them 37's don't look so big on a Troll but i am inclined to think from much reading that Maxxis mud's are significantly smaller than it says on the side wall . It was a gamble i was willing to take until the EU decided they are only suitable to go 12mph or something

We’ve got a few visitors staying from SA so it off to find some altitude and snow...
We had a storm yesterday that wasn’t very pleasant, high winds and snow, and temperatures have fallen down to -11C today, but with some sunshine...
The girls enjoyed falling about in the snow...
And it’s been a while since I saw snow drifting quite like today, up to 3m in one place...

Great, it’s been quite spring-like here today. Apparently I’m on faceache, Sussex 4x4 Response doing ditch crossing.
