Does anyone here know if it's safe to remove this Strut bolt from front right hand Control Arm that holds the Strut in place while all other parts are still normally on? Do I need to open some other nuts/bolts? Should I put a jackstand under the Control Arm or clamp the Strut with some tools to be able to fit new bolt on?
I wonder if the Strut will move from its position or will it be hard to line back to put a new genuine bolt, washer and nut on. Can you push the Strut upwards by hands or will it be very tight to re-position after removing the rusted bolt? Also can I just open the bolt and nut by giving the nut (which seems to be in decent condition) some Milwaukee bolt gun treatment so that I wont hold the rusted bolt end from the other side?

If the car is jacked up you wouldn't damage anything but potentially your fingers because the spring is loaded . Use spring compressors .

I've never just removed that nut, but when you take the whole strut off there is very little force on the bottom wishbone when the wheel is off and it's hanging. Impact gun will easily shift the nut. All that said it doesn't look very corroded to me.

Yeah, I guess that when you remove the wheel it will be manageable. I might put a crowbar or a clamp to hold the strut in place for the time to minimize any minor movement. The bolt part that sits inside the strut is propably still quite solid, but the rusted head just looks really awkward to me and I wouldnt like it to break while driving in the future so I'll change it since I have the parts.
Thanks for your input!
