Heavy Duty, Waterproof, specifically for the Collie, any suggestions?

Steve, just ordered a set, made for just for "The Collie"
They arrive here on the 23rd. will post up some pics, and my thoughts

looking fwd to that - just spent 25 pounds or something on a set for my van. I reckon they will last 2 weeks...........
need quality for the truck :)

Ive been looking at the seat covers made by a company in South Africa called Escape Gear. They're an expedition type one made out of canvas and they're a tailored fit. Not cheap though, about £400 delivered from the factory but they are supposed to be fantastic.
My car is low mileage but the previous owners of 13 years must have smoked themselves to death in it. Various ciggy burns on the seats and I've tried everything to get rid of the smell.
A bit off topic I'm struggling to get a genuine dog guard and a set of genuine rubber mats any ideas?

froggy Steve
Well they are fitted Steve, I do like the front seats, think if they made the rear (split) seats in the same pattern would've be better. (minor niggle)
Overall impressed with the quality, fit is pretty good.

see what you mean - I think I would go for fronts only, after all, tis just the occasional groccle what rides in seats and doggies in back :)

I have tailor made seat covers that i had in the collie and the bonus is they also fit the 120, little bit tighter but they do fit. and the rear is made for the split seats. i will try to find the company that made them for me. i think i paid about £90 for the set.

I have a colorado dog guard sitting in the garage.

I looked through my paperwork for the seat covers today but the receipt must of been in the folder when i sold the Colorado.

This thread reminded me that i kept a taxi drivers personal number 6 weeks ago as a result of my astonishment that a 7 seater taxi should have white leather seats . He said they were covers costing about 350 quid . He has just replied to my text - http://www.autoleathers.co.uk/

Escape Gear is fantastic... i saw their covers on a few trucks before trying to chase it down. However they are not super keen on shipping from factory anymore with a german company and the apb guys in the UK now designated retailers in the EU.

Their dash covers are ace too.

However, at £580 plus VAT, is a bit steep for an entire set ( apb pricing for 2 front, bench back and dash cover, this was at the show yesterday ), its a bit steep. There were 2 upholstry companies at the show too, one of them came over and measured up and check the seats in my truck and quote £260 for fully fitted 2 layer waterproof canvas covers custom tailored. Unfortunately he only samole they had on show were leather finishes. Am going to research this a bit more but thinking of going down this route.

The general condition of the present seats is pretty good, and my aim is to try and keep them in that state as long as possible. So really looking for a good second skin ( as a barrier between the kids and the seats ).

Regards,

How much do you want for the dog guard and are you a million miles away from either Liverpool or Doncaster?
