Issue:

I'm experiencing an intermittent problem with the dashboard indicators on my 1997 HDJ/VX 80, a 24-valve, 4.2 turbo diesel. The "T-belt" and "Turbo" lights blink/flash momentarily when the RPM goes just above 2000 or when the engine is under load, such as during hill climbs. Once I increase RPM this issue goes away.
Toyota's Feedback:
I consulted Toyota, but they were unable to provide a solution. Their response was, "As long as the lights only blink for a second, keep on driving."
Request for Community Help:
I would like to understand why these dashboard indicators are blinking and how to resolve the issue. Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, what did you do to fix it? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I asked this question a while back and was advised to clean up alternator connections .

I was convinced I had done something whilst working on other stuff so when i find time I've been hunting elsewhere cleaning up battery connections and 12v accessories box and tow socket . Been flashing for months now and its a nuisance I need to get sorted before mot time rather than a worry .

Thanks Shayne and sorry for my late response. I will look into the issue of alternator and you are not the only one pointing in that direction. So thanks and let’s stay in contact. All the best from Autumn Denmark

Hey Niels W it perhaps to soon to mention it but I bust my tail light , thinning out 3 acres of dense forest and there had to be a rebel tree fight back , and while botching it back together into some sort of legalish form I removed bulbs and found one to be corroded though working . Cleaned it up using only my thumb nail and 4 days later while the truck has been in constant use it occurred to me that I hadn't noticed the flashing dash lights so tonight I was looking for them the last 5 miles home and nothing so maybe that was it ?

Could be a bad earth on the system caused a draw to be looking for another earth path and somehow it found it through the dash.... earths cause more problems than many realise and lead many up the "garden path" looking for faults.......
