I know the FJ40 isn't meant to be luxurious, but I wanted to make it quieter for longer journeys!
I used Canopus 2mm self-adhesive mat followed by Dynadeck.
Took about 6 weekends to get it cut and fitted. I'm sure it could be done better but the Dynadeck is tough to form!

Should also say I put Dynamat extreme in the doors, with some success, but didn't stick very well. Also put Dynamat hoodliner on the bonnet!

I can only imagine how satisfying it must feel to have restored a Cruiser to that standard :sunglasses:

Your FJ40 looks amazing, a beautiful restoration.
I would like to see more photos of it.

Regarding the sound deadening, being a soft top we did not use any sound deadening but, having travelled in a hardtop 40 in the past, it is a necessary addition and it will enable you to hear the radio.

Where did you get the mudflaps from?

Regards,

Rodger

Covering up all that lovely blue paintwork was tough, but I wanted to make it as comfortable as possible to drive around. I think it has made a massive difference and as said, I can now hear the radio!

Imported from Indonesia, I did have the plan to restore one but it would have taken me 10 years and a mountain of tools and skills, so I decided to get one and use it now!!
Incredible job! Is it on the road now?
Yep, take it to multiple car shows and never see another!
