Spain and Portugal 2024

Yes. The copper contacts inside wear out. Most often that results in just getting a loud click when you turn the key and no start. Very occasionally they stick on and the starter runs until power is removed or the motor burns out. The contacts are not very expensive and quite easy to replace. Worth having a look at them to see what condition they're in. There can be other causes of a sticky starter.

Thanks for the heads up, might as well replace them while I have the starter out, much rather do as preventative than once its fried something
