Hi folks,

I’m trying to remove the sub-tank to my 91 troopcarrier to replace the faulty sender but it seems the bolts holding the straps on the sub tank are held by nuts on the upper side. However, the cavity where the nuts are located it’s deep (and filled with dirt) making the use of a spanner unviable.

Does anyone have experience removing the sub-tank on a similar model that could offer their advise?

Thanks in advance!

Isaac

I thought those nuts were welded and that you should just be able to undo the bolts from the underside??

They might need a bit of a heave if its the first time they have been undone

Thanks Nick.

I think I might’ve broken the weld cause I could feel the nut twisting inside and couldn’t get the bolts out completely. So probs the best is to cut them and install new ones…

There was dirt to the top of the cavity so probably all rusted out. It’s an old lady!
