.Unfortunately very true.

At first I thought this was funny....Then I realised the truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world...

We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened?
Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money?

Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges....

And we all know what we think of Bankers.

:o Shocking, probably referring to the USA, but applies equally here.

I still can't believe that we pay a tax on car insurance. It's a crime to drive without it - so when you get it, we'll add a tax? There isn't a tax on road tax is there? It wouldn't surprise me.

It's easier to list what you can buy with your money (after tax) without paying tax on it. It's very little indeed. I pay income tax at 40% which I have just learned to live with. I don't consider my self to be wealthy or even particularly highly paid. But when I look at what the Govt takes from me each month it is eye watering. Then as Gra syas, they get the rest of it anyway. So what am I effectively taxed at?

Gross - PAYE - Nat Ins, then roughly everything else has 20% VAT on it. I know this has been worked out somewhere before. The effective free spend of my gross is very very little at all. But then health care is free, mostly, I get street lights, my bins emptied, roads provided.

Is it that bad? Did I say that out loud?

Free  I have a dental bridge which has just broken and to replace it I've had a bill for, wait for it . . . . . £1250  a removable denture would be cheaper, but many years ago when my bridge was fitted it was free but it seems the rules have changed and now for a bridge (which is classed as 'cosmetic') you have to pay :( Free NHS? I don't think so :naughty:

And don't forget the tax (VAT) you pay on the duty you pay on a litre of fuel - tax on tax, even. Armageddon!!

Ahh, Chas, that is because at your age, teeth are classed as a luxury. :D :D :D :D
