This brilliant piece of kit has proved itself on a recent European road trip driving from Preston Lancashire to Europes largest Overland show in Bad Kissingen Germany, then across to France for some serious chill-out beach action catching waves in Biarritz and back home.
3000 miles in a couple of weeks of constant use putting our 2 second tent up in the net and back down along with our sleeping bags, roll mats, air mattresses and pillows.

During everyday use now we're back home it houses our coats stashed high out the way in case we get caught out leaving the house without.

Click on the bottom link on Brownbears post and then click on the picture of the net. I was going to ring them to ask, but their contact link wants your details, which may then get passed on to interested parties, I want to contact them not them contact me :angry-screaming:

I bloody hate things like that, though I do enjoy always giving the number of my fax machine (that has no ink ribbon in it or paper) so all the random callers can listen to the fax 'music'

I want one for my 80 and they make one specifically.

Note: Black Anchor Plates shown in picture are NOT included with net, but are available in our Cargo Control Hardware section.

So the prices are not inclusive of the fixings. I counted 16 of the little chappies, but I haven't checked the Cargo Control Hardware section for prices.

It's not a cheap piece of kit and I guess anyone with a scrapyard full of spare seatbelts, a tough sewing machine and access to elastic straps could make a killing!

Anyway I'm in for one if there's a bulk buy, especially if there's shipping to Romania!:?

It does look good, but including an anchor plate (£1.50 each) you'd need for each strap it comes to about £104, too pricey for a bit of webbing.

Hi Guys, Massive apologies for the very late reply to all above posts.
As you can no doubt see I have not been on the forum pretty much since posting this thread.
I would very much like to take this opportunity to set straight a few points to help you guys get a better understanding of who we are and how we operate.

On our website contact page, it does ask for your details. I guarantee 100% that I do not share your details with anyone at all and that is a cast iron promise!

I own and run ROCK N ROAD 4X4 so I am here to ensure this is and always will be the case.
I too have subscribed to one or two websites over the years and even the ones which I choose to give my details too send me periodic notices which can be a peck, let alone from some random Herbert selling insurance/pensions/etc or dreaded ppi cr@p :icon-twisted: and I soon find myself unsubscribing, so I am totally onboard about contact and your details being handed over. It just will NOT happen.

I too hate when websites ask for my details as I'm sure they sell them on to any old company or even other companies I may be interested in.
However, the reason we ask for details is simply because we receive loads of enquiries and we like to keep our service personal where everyone is treat like the valued individuals you are and not "just a customer". I am a very firm believer that the customer is King and treat each customer as I would wish to be treated.
So, the reason I ask for your details is simply so I can reply to each and every customer and address them by name when replying and so I know that John X from Cardiff is not the same John from Halifax or John from Newcastle etc etc. It helps me keep track of which customer is enquiring about which product making my job easier when personally replying.

To help avoid using the website contact page, please feel to email on: [email protected] here you can send enquiries as and when and I will reply to all messages. If you leave your name I know who I'm talking to, if you leave your contact number you will only be contacted back on it if YOU ask me to.
I can also be reached by telephone on either 01772 378 120 or 07969 577 772
I do occasionally find I have to dive out of the office to pop into production but my mobile is always on when I'm on the move and I will ALWAYS call back anyone who wishes me to if they leave their details.

Soooo, on to the webbing cargo nets...

As fellow Cruiser owners and forum members I am more than happy to offer special rates and additional bulk purchase rates should the forum wish to make such buys.

The net pictured is truly awesome and solves several problems.
I designed one originally for my (cough land rover discovery cough) but have now designed this one to fit my Land Cruiser 80VX. (I also offer a 25mm webbing version with smaller spacing's between webbing strands)

It fits using some existing bolt holes and grab handles and by fitting some riv-nuts for the other points. It takes approx. 5mins to fit the riv-nuts and five to feed the straps through the anchor plates and tension. Please note bolts are not included as different customers prefer different fasteners. The additional weight bumps up shipping too, however if required we can include bolts but obviously at extra cost for them and shipping.

By attaching the four existing bolt holes, this aligns the net in place and the remaining holes are then automatically lined up.

The straps to tension the net are fully adjustable and are fit with military specification buckles which will never slacken off during use regardless of miles travelled or vibration even over corrugated roads and serious off roading. That said, to release its a simple pull and they back off with minimum effort.

By adjusting the straps, you can higher or lower the net to suit the size of the load above.

When camping we put our 2 second tent up there along with 3xpillows, 2xfoam roll mats, 2xself inflating roll mats 2x sleeping bags and sleeping bag liners, plus other light weight bulky items like jackets etc. - The net is also great for hanging wet towels on after a cooling off beach visit on our South of France Road Trips!
When back home we keep a coat each up there with reflective coats/vests. They are up out the way keeping a tidy uncluttered load space and keeping them clean.

Although all the securing straps are adjustable, once loaded with a large bulky load or just the coats its simply a case of using the rear most two straps to place/remove gear.
Also, once the net is full of gear, simply tension all the straps to pull the load up tight so it doesn't sag down. When away camping with all the above mentioned items, I can still see straight out the rear view mirror!

The adjusters are quick tension and release and carry a (NSN) NATO STOCK NUMBER as they are used by several NATO forces on their equipment.
The webbing is British made so we can strictly control the quality at all times ensuring it is the highest possible standard. Even the thread is heavy duty and will not burst or break under load. It too is used on the construction of military components.
In fact, we regularly boast that our products are fit to go into battle..... that's because we have supplied dozens of our webbing products for our armoured vehicles operating in the middle east.
In nearly 18month of use in hostile areas and conflict not a single product has failed! not one single component or even one single stitch!!!
We only use Military Spec fittings or at the very least they are from our Heavy Duty range. Only the best is good enough and ALL our webbing products are over engineered to not fail. We do not want to resupply products which have failed after a few years service, we want to supply products once FULL STOP! All our customers are repeat customers, but always for additional items. If just one of our products fail, ALL our goods are then in question. We strive to make the very best items every time. By over engineering you get the quality you should which should provide years and years of faithful unfaltering service!!!
For example, our 18mm webbing is rated to 1.5t and out 50mm is rated at 2t. now make a net out of 5x6 strands of 50mm webbing, fit it out with military buckles as fit on UK & US troops combat gear and put some sleeping bags and camping gear on it.... You have a No fail product!!!
Of course, accidents do happen, so if you accidentally cut through your net or strap, or accidentally dropped a sledge hammer on a plastic fitting and it broke, simply send it back and we will repair the damaged piece, not sell you a new one!

So, down to price... as forum members, I can offer the net with 16x anchor plates at a special price of £86 plus p&p NO extras. The prices you see on all our items are what you pay plus P&P there are no hidden extras like VAT.
If the forum wishes to make a bulk purchase I can shave a little more off or offer some kind of freebie or other Loyalty discount scheme.

I am also happy to discount ALL my other items on my website too.
On certain brands margins are extremely tight but on other items plus ALL webbing nets and straps I can offer some pretty good deals.

All I ask is if you are off the forum you mention your user name so I know to apply discounts.

Lastly, my prices are keen to begin with. I don't believe in charging a fortune for a product just because the user is fitting it to a race or expedition vehicle.
This for me is about supplying high end gear at sensible prices. Remember, any discounts given are taken out of my profit... If I can do a deal I will do a deal!

Back to my webbing products, I design all products myself working closely with you the end user. This means I can custom make any size any shape net to suit you and your vehicles needs exactly.
I work in various widths and colours and use a multitude of fittings and offer a large range of securing systems whether you're securing items down, up or vertically to vehicle walls or using a net as a load barrier.
All our nets and components are suitable for interior or exterior use from load space nets inside, to load securing nets on motorcycles, 4x4s, race vehicles, roof racks, trailers and bonnets.
I also supply a huge range of webbing ratchet straps and cam buckle straps with an infinite combination of hooks and fittings.

To compliment our nets and straps, we also supply a large range of cargo rail and end fittings including nets and straps with cargo rail end fittings sewn in. This means when you release tension on a strap, the usual hook fit to the end furthest away at the back of a loaded vehicle does not unhook causing the problems of climbing over gear to re-attach it. A simple but amazing time saving, easy life solution.

ALL my webbing products are designed in house and manufactured here in the UK by our BS EN ISO 9001 accredited production team. This guarantees our strict control over materials and workmanship at all times.

Just some of our extremely satisfied customers include:
Dakar race team for race and support vehicle equipment and specialist UV protection roof rack nets.
Defence order to kit out armoured vehicles in active combat zones with our heavy duty webbing cargo nets for securing down "specialist" equipment!
Mountain Rescue Teams - Load Barrier nets in Land Rovers

 Thanks for that very informative description, when I've saved a few pennies I will contact you.

Yeah, but nice bit of webbing, Brad. I don't recall this first time around, but I like it. Had a look at your shop too. Some nice gear.

Could be tempted into a roof net for my F'roader. Not sure it will fit with my other build, but I'd give one a go.

Hi Brad,

just a quick note as you know we had two roof nets off you about 4 years ago they have been used and abused over the years and they are still going strong.Great product.

Will they hold the weight of a child? Nothing too large, let's say, oh I dunno, a stroppy teenager?

Just thinking out loud. It's all about options really. You get me I'm sure.

I missed this thread
And found Brads site on google a few weeks ago after talking to him on phone and getting a lot of useful info I ordered a net. Fitted it now and pleased with it. I have tried several nets in past and they sagged instantly. One had several bungees and 10m of para cord to support it.
No need to do is with new webbing net and it's adjustable

Very good service from Brad, who quickly answered my questions
