And you didn't have to in the last contraption you had?

C'mon H, tell us what you bought instead of a Cruiser last time. :)
I owned up in the initial post

No problem spending the money on doing the injectors, I just worry that there is some damage/weakening already been done and it’s now a ticking time bomb! Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic?!

TBF H if it runs ok now I'd say little to no damage will have been done. From what you've told me the rattling is minimal, just on start up.
I think piston damage would usually occur when it's chipped up to increase power and plenty has been asked of it.

A mate says I can use his front 120 box to pass an emissions test if necessary.
My original exhaust's still on the 120.

I’m going for it.

Plan to order the parts next week with a view to doing the job the following week.

I’ll be reading through past threads and have got the guide from Baileys (I have seen their torque values are incorrect).

Any tips/tricks/must knows that anyone thinks I might miss please let me know.

I’ll let you all know how I get on. Cross your fingers for me that it goes smoothly and I don’t end up wishing I’d paid someone else to have the hassle!

Cheers,

H

As you have already found out, official guides are not always correct (torque in this case).
Another member had that trouble with Haynes? I think, that resulted in a snapped stud.
When you search on the forum, two that spring to mind with listed detailed methods, parts and tools used, are mwhtc and sam,
From start to finish how it went, mistakes, and what they would have done differently, but all ending in a satisfactory job.
Both of them interesting and informative threads.

Could anyone suggest where to order washers, gaskets, bolts etc from? I am being quoted over £200 from our local Toyota.

Is there anywhere I could go to save on these?

Cheers,

H

When I did mine I got all the once use parts from @chapel gate on here. I think they were about £50-60.

I can't remember which all the parts were but it was mainly the rocker top gasket and a load of washers I think.
