I have gone through causes for my 89 series which is hesitating an d slow picking up speed and now sometimes over-revs without picking up speed!
I have tried adjusting the throttle position cable with no improvement
So I think it could be the converter or shift solenoids gone bad
It’s a 1995 80 series with an excellent 4.2DIESEL engine?
Is the 2004 converter the same as the 80 series AND is a 100 series converter compatible with the 1995 ?
I also see the solenoids are very expensive so I’m considering all options really
Any advice and info much appreciated
David

The auto in a 95 80 series diesel is the A442F. This is made by Aisin Warner and used in other non-Toyota models such as Isuzu. The designation for this auto is AW450-43LE.

Solenoids for the AW450-43LE can be had for significantly less than from Toyota and will fit the A442F. See here Solenoid Group, AW450-43LE (RNJ) (49420AK) | eBay - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club]

I’ve no idea on the compatibility of TC from a 100 series. New upgraded TCs can be had from Wholesale Autos in Oz
