Towing

Having a problem with engine stalling after an hour or so with towing. No engine codes and Toyota service people are useless. Anyone else had similar problems?

Sounds electrical, I'm guessing it starts back fine after stalling with you? Does it only occur when towing?

I would guess heat is the problem and sensors are shutting it down before damage occurs . Coolant flush and new thermostat is probably the cheapest place to start from a d.i.y point of view . Maybe your viscous fan could do with an overhaul .

Could it be something with heat-soak and fuel? If it's petrol some sort of vapour lock? Don't think that is a problem on injected engines though.
