Hello, can anyone help with a tire-rim question please?
For a 2008 LC can I use Borbet CW 10j20 ET 35 rims with 275/60 R20, OM set up are 285/50 R20 J8,5x20 ET 60. Same Bolt patern and center hole, the size and performance characteristics are my concern. Thank you!

I have 275/75/r20 Falken wildpeaks on OEM rims, and that does have an effect on performance (reduces acceleration) due to increased diameter over stock, you are proposing going higher, so the reduction will be more pronounced. Also slightly narrower width means decreased foot print.

You are also proposing going for a 10" Wide wheel vs an 8.5" wide wheel (with a narrower tyre) with a reduced offset (25mm closer inboard). I don't think that is going to work, but only way to see is to try unless you can find someone with that setup? I think you'll struggle to find someone reducing tyre width and increasing wheel width though!

Thanks for your input! The thing is that I already have those tires and rims, but the tires are not on the rim’s yet.
What about to install the original tires 285/50 r20 on those 10”rims, and the 275/s on the OEM rims 8j20? How’s that sounds? Better or worse? Thanks a lot Brett!

Radu

Well, it would be more usual to fit a wider tyre to a wider rim, but I think the chance of it rubbing due to the decreased offset, plus wider rim & tyre will be increased. If you already have the rims & tyres, I would suggest fitting one tyre first and trying it out (not driving). You'll soon see if it is going to rub. I think for the 275's you are going to have to do a sensor lift (if you have AHC?) for the front, or fit the OEM spacer if conventional suspension (with KDSS).

It looks like I have AHC system, please explain what you mean by a sensor lift? Only at the front? Thanks a lot

Finally I have the tires installed. This is how it looks... 275 60 R20 on J10 Borbet, it was scrubbing a little in front and back fender rubber at maximum left and right steering, but with a little push in and a screw it fixed the problem.
