Toyota Prado/Colarado 90 w/ early 1KD EGR Blank and Butterfly Removal

Hey all,

I have a 90 series with the early 1KD engine (year 2000), and I'm wondering if anyone has removed the the throttle body plate?

Reason for me wanting to do this, is that since the egr has been blanked off and i installed a better flowing 3" exhaust system, the turbo now boosts much higher, and I can now happily achieve up to 18-19 psi of boost, with the help of a bleed valve to trick the MAP sensor to avoid the fuel cut.

As a result, I lift off the accelerator, and the excess boost has no where to go, resulting in a "CHOOOoooo" noise from the surge when the throttle body plate (I assume) snaps shut. I've attached a video to show it, although it's much louder in real life.

Normally the egr would dump the extra air (from my understanding). If I was to remove the throttle plate / butterfly or whatever its called, from the intake, would this allow the engine to absorb the extra pressure instead?
Anyone done anything like this before?
I guessing something sort of dump valve pre-throttle body plate would also achieve the same thing, with more work.

I can't seem to find too much information on these early 1KD engines.

Cheers, Cameron
What were the gages you had on the A pillar? I like those

JRP Racing Gauges. Top one is 2 in one boost and EGT, lower one is transmission temp. Great gauges imo
Google "Just Race Parts Australia", that's where i got them from

The gauges look so cool! Sad this is that you can't find an A pillar piece for left hand vehicles
