Transmission will Not Engage 4H Forward

Was driving here in Mt Elizabeth Station off Gibb River Rd. Changed from 4L to 4H and terrible noise when I attempted to engage drive. Tried reverse fine. Went back to 4L and able to use drive. Anyone experienced this sort of problem?

Well. Big thank you to the guys ar 4WD & Marine on Derby WA. Put car in neutral. Got a few friends to rock the 200 furiously and click it engaged on the third go. All solved. Apparently a reasonably common event.
