I recently purchased a 2001 90 series land cruiser 1kd-ftv. Was very smokey when I baught it and I discovered a lot of oil coming from the pipe between the turbo and intercooler. I sent the turbo away and had oil seals replaced (turbo currently on route back to me). Turbo technician have the route cause as oil contamination. There is no sign of the oil being mixed with coolant/ shavings when dropping the oil. I think it may potentially be an oil pressure issue? - perhaps the oil sump gauze. I am only posting as the oil sump cover is not easy to take off like the newer d4d models (entire sump bottom rather than the smaller piece removed with a 10mm spanner). Any help appreciated
