Hi all

Am looking at BFG ATKO2's for my Hilux.

The size is 265/70r17.

But the markings after that arent clear......some say 112S and some say 121S, some say 112Q !

The handbook says the spec is 112S, but am I right in thinking that 121S has a higher weight loading, or speed rating, or something......

I can get 121S at a better price, so am hoping its actually a higher spec therefore suitable.

Having a google, looks like 112 is about 1120kg on a tyre, whereas 121 is 1450kg.

S is the speed rating.

As the tyres I want are 121S they are the right speed and will carry a load in excess of the requirement, so should be above the spec required.

I'm wondering if the extra load is obtained by stiffening the sidewalls? This could be a disadvantage under some circumstances, or may even harshen the ride slightly, or would I not notice?

Any thoughts.
