Hello,
after installing both rebuilt cylinder heads on my LC 100 4.7, it appeared a valve ticking noise.
I used a 10W60 engine oil because in the past I observed on my LC an excessive oil consumption.
In your opinion what could be the issue?
A wrong valve adjustment or a low oil lubrication of the heads due of a wrong choice of motor oil grade?
The seller where I buyed cylinder heads told me that valves clearance was already checked by grinding worker. So I did not checked again the valves adjustment when I reinstalled heads in my car.
Thanks for helping me.
Fabio

Be careful of using heavier engine oil.
I have a HDJ80, 1HD-T engine. Spec's state 15W-40 oil.
I went to 20W-60 to increase oil pressure. What happens is the heavier oil clings to the cylinder walls & is burnt off. On a long trip the result was I consumed oil at a greater rate. Over a week this resulted in such a loss that I did a big end bearing, crank & camshaft.
Stick to the manufacturers spec's.
