Hammerite forged paint in gunmetal grey not available in the UK and the main international supplier hasn't replied in four days so I'm assuming the worst . Can anyone help ?

Plenty of Hammerite around Chas and I personally hate the stuff but having chosen a colour for my trailer I searched far and wide to find out what it is and who sells it . Hammerite Forged , must be better than the crap we get because some bugger in Brussels no doubt decided it's too good for us , even Hammerite uk had no idea what I was talking about . I would post a link to it but I'm on an iPad and I don't feel like caressing the screen lovingly for 40 effing minutes in an attempt to copy and paste :icon-rolleyes:

As far as I know Shayne, the Hammerite product (the paint itself) is the same in either of the finish options, smooth or hammered.

Chas' link is for the hammered finish, and what is "hammered" if not "forged"? Same thing in my book. And, it's great paint as long as you give it a good base coat, I had it on a sea boat trailer for years without rust coming through, using galvafroid cold galv primer and red oxide base coat over that. JMO.

Ha, ha, a quick PS, I was just going to say how easy the iPad was to use and I re-read my post and found 3 spelling errors from auto correct, AAARGH!

PS 2, Why not use black Shayne, it has a sort of silvery sheen in hammer finish, which gives it that gunmetal effect.... a bit ... if you use your imagination.... maybe :shifty:

Black absorbs heat and some bugger has us driving to Romania in the height of summer  Forged is a texture other than hammered or smooth , dulux international have it in 5 different colours , I wanted to throttle the bloke I spoke to at my nearest dulux trade counter but the girl I spoke to at head office was intigued so found it , liked it , then apologized because they can't supply it ?

The only place I can buy it from is South Africa and I can't even register with the website without an SA address

Hey Shayne I can get you an SA address what is it you are after?

Hi iceman I was planning on buying 3x1 litre cans of Hammerite forged paint but post from SA is likely to cost far more than the actual paint . Thanks for the shout though

Shayn, I am off up the carboot on sunday. There is a bloke up there that sells a LOT of paint. Lots of it Hammerite. Send me the details, Like paint code, and I can ask/have a look for you.

Wasted 30 quid today mixing Hammerite and got more or less the same colour , it's not too bad but I much prefer the forged texture

There is supposed to be a pic but the iPad is to damn clever to bother with such things :angry-banghead:
