White smoke can also be caused through water being present in the bore on ignition....ie gasket leaking or cracked head......

They are dry lined, ie:no gaskets on cylinder liner to keep water out..

IF there had been ANY sort of problem, with so many engines around...there would have been a modified gasket around long ago. They did after all modify the 3.0 ltr head castings after so many cracked.
