Hi All,
Well the Mrs's Mum was taken ill a few weeks ago. She flew to West Ireland to be with her and we (me and my two boys) were under instruction to follow when she passed. (You only get three days until they are buried).
So this would be my first real trip in the KZJ95. Checked all fluids, checked all tyres, fuelled up, got a small toolkit together and loaded up with snacks ready for the news.
Word came, booked the ferry. 0245 from Pembroke to Rosslare. We are near M23 junction on the M25.
Well we are back now. Truck performed faultlessly. 3 out and 4 back. 1000 mile round trip.
Loved every minute of the drive, so did the kids and, even the Mrs found it very comfortable.
Got to drive on the beach. I have always wanted to take it to Ireland, unfortunately this was not the trip to go exploring, but I/we will be back under more relaxed circumstances. She is from Quilty on the west coast and we visit quite regularly.
Fair to say that the truck out performed me. The truck could have driven back the next day but there is no way I could.
While we were on the beach, car parked, us dipping out toes in the sea, another KZJ95 drove along the beach. same colour and everything, just no bull bar. I was going to go and say hello but the brother in laws toddler suddenly started to have a problem with the sand touching his feet. So we had to leave. If it was you, sorry, had to go.
