Recommendations for replacement front seats + rail mods

Not sure on the colours for the wiring but I would think that something like an electric aerial switch would work for the support so you can adjust it both ways.

Spare switched / ignition live point?

If you have already wired in a relay before, why not wire in another one from the battery to your new fuse box and use the switched feed from your ciggy lighter to power it on. Put a fuse as close to the battery as you can and then fit your relay as normal. This would give you more than enough...

    Help with Towbar wiring

Hi Adrian. When you don't have your trailer plugged in the brass strip connects the feed to the eighth pin which is connected to your truck fog lights. When you plug a trailer plug in the brass strip is lifted off the pin so that the feed goes to your trailer fog light and not your truck lights...

    I want to upgrade but....

@Grimbo Not had a lot to do with guns either but my son has a few air guns including a replica Colt 45which fires steel pellets and has an eight shot magazine. Its also a repeating shot as well, no reloading every time you've fired a shot. As for the house situation weve gone from them...

    Indicators cutting out while towing

Do you use your hazard switch to test your trailer lights when you first plug them in? I did this and when I switched the hazards off I found that my indicators werent working at all. Switched the haxzards on and off and they worked fine. Worth checking the hazard switch if it does it again to...

    I want to upgrade but....

I haven't lost interest at all. I did reply but at the moment i am trying to sell a house and getting solicitors to talk to each other by anything other than emails is a right PIA. Looking for a new motor is on the back burner for a while but I do appreciate all your input and thoughts.

    I want to upgrade but....

Just read all your replies. Thanks for all. Certainly makes me think about keeping the Collie. Its just so reliable, never fails to start and feels right to drive(had it since November 2005). Only rust is drivers rear wheel arch starting to blister. Higgy, its just clocked 269K miles and still...

Will these L200 alloys will fit my Collie??

Those are the wheels I have seen fitted to a 90 a few years back when I was working in Ashford area. Didnt speak to the owner but they did look the part and filled the arches nicely.

    I want to upgrade but....

Your right about the 90 Shayne. I got into it after the test drive and it honestly felt no different. I drive the 90 all the time and even trying out the brand new Rexton ultimate didnt make me think yes I want one. Tried it as its still ladder frame chassis and separate body combo. That was the...

    I want to upgrade but....

Hi. A few weeks ago I had a test drive in a 2011 150 series LC5. We had it for an hour and tried a mixture of back roads and m/way driving. I haven't driven one before(already tried a 120) so took up the offer from my local dealer. Driving back home afterwards in my 98 Colorado my wife and i...

    Electrical Problem

Is the battery being charged correctly? If I remember rightly some of the 70 series had a separate regulator fitted on the drivers side inner wing. Check your getting 14v at the battery first. Also check under the dash for any loose earths ( on the drivers side I think if it has a metal dash)...

    Car sounds like shrieking demons

I had this problem on my truck. My solution was to take it apart and coat all the surfaces inside and bolts and spring faces with copper grease and reassemble. Squeak gone and lasted for at least a few months. Not a permanent fix and eventually replaced the gasket when the exhaust rotted through.

    KZJ78 Stereo options + Aerial+ Speakers

Hi. Does your truck have the metal dash with the speaker grills in? If so its a right PIA to replace the speakers. On my brother-in-laws we fitted 150mm in the front door cards. The speakers will interfere with the windows so you will have to either buy spacers or make some out of MDF or...

Kzj 78 Fuse box location (are there two?)

Do the windows not work at all or only from the rear door switches? If they dont work at all try pulling the rubber tube between the doors and the pillars apart and check for broken wiring (if you haven't already done this). Opening and closing the doors breaks the wires off over time and stops...

Kzj 78 Fuse box location (are there two?)

Hi . Great truck. My wife's brother had one of these which got me into land cruisers as well. Just a quick note but have you checked that the safety button on the drivers door window switches isn't pressed in? I ask because it switches off the rear windows to stop the kiddies opening them when...

    Light Guards?

You could get your lights clear wrapped to protect them like Clive Horridge did in his angel eye upgrade thread on his 80 series.

Front brake disc splash guards / dust shields

When I replaced my front bearings the lock ring didn't hold the bearing in place just distorted out of shape and out of the groove it was sat in. Both of my bearings didn't leave a race on the hub shaft but if it does they can be cut of with an angle grinder and a chisel. Have done this a few...

Front brake disc splash guards / dust shields

If I remember you will have to press out the wheel bearing to remove/replace the dust shield. Or cut the shield at the thin part where it goes round the bearing and see if you could slide it in maybe.

    Need help wiring aftermarket stereo

Hi. The colours on that plug look very similar to the ones on the Pioneer head unit you are trying to fit. Can you use a multi meter and check which wire is what? If I remember on the pioneer unit I fitted :- Orange was for illumination (dimmed the display when turning sidelights on) Red was...

Indicators and hazard fuse blowing, then won't start: battery?

Hi. When I fitted new batteries to my Collie I had the same problem. I ended up fitting the clamp to the battery terminal and tightened it up. Then I got a large pair of adjustable spanners and braced the clamp with them whilst undoing the nut with a ratchet and socket. When I put it back on I...

    Gearbox oil leak

That looks like the front diff breather hose to me. Check the level in your diff . On your trip it would have got hot and possibly you had a bit too much oil in and overflowed?

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't been on here for a while but I have been bit hectic last few days. Thank you for all your replies and thoughts. I agree with the comments from Higgy and Flint that the 95 has character and for the last couple of days mine has been faultless running around from...

    Got a 120 itch.

Hi. I currently drive a 1998 Colorado as a daily driver. It does everything I want(towing my caravan, etc) but I am retiring next year and I am thinking of upgrading to a 120. I know these are getting on a bit but I am thinking of getting a more comfortable, slightly modern drive. I am looking...

    Brake time

The time has come for me to replace my disks and brake pads on my Colorado. I normally use Borg and Beck discs with the same make pads. I remember reading somewhere on here about Milners ceramic brake pads. I think it was @Chris with his 80 series. I have tried with the search but not had much...

The speedo shows mileage as KMH as it has an overlay on it.The mileage works out as 171650. The truck also has two new front tyres fitted which have just been rebalanced as it lost a weight on the trip over. It has a split rear seat layout 50/50 split. The rear windows have a mirror tint on...
