    L/C Colarado 2002 lwb

Welcome BB. I managed to find one for my Collie through FB marketplace but beware there are quite a few scammers out there. An alternate that I've used is Nayab Akbar (FB forum 'Toyota LandCruiser Source UK, Ireland and Europe') but can be expensive!

    N4 Works winch plate

Cheers Bert, that info and photo are really helpful. Guessed there might be some 'other' mods required. Looks like the trusty dremel and a few big tools might be required!

    N4 Works winch plate

Has anyone used these guys before (N4 Off-Road Parts). I'd like to keep the stock front fender with a winch so this mounting plate would suit and there is a UK distributor.

Engine rebuild update and warning to others regarding second hand parts

Following a lengthy rebuild my Collie is back on the road and all is swimmingly well... or so I thought. The first 500 mile run in went well and she's been in for a new oil and filter change, no issues there until the garage rang to say 'we can't get the oil stick back in the tube'! After a lot...

    Anyone know Overland Cruisers

That's right, on this engine from a KNZ185 Surf the location is on the left (from drivers position). The tube and stick are shaped different and so awkward to get to. At least I'll get to play with a new borescope toy :)

    Anyone know Overland Cruisers

Helllooo...., its been a long haul. The truck is back on the road and I've been using occasionally as I have a small problem but its concerning. The replacement engine runs a treat, I had the oil and filter changed after an initial 500 miles and the local garage said they couldn't fit the oil...

    Anyone know Overland Cruisers

TBH, I've been getting parts from Nayab Akbar on FB under the Toyota LandCruiser source UK, Ireland & Europe group. Takes a while getting them from shipped to delivery but can source pretty much anything. Parts are shipped to Wolverhampton depot and then internally from there. Provides photos...

    Eleck-Trickery Question re Immobiliser

I've had a few small gremlins and initially changed the alternator and then upgraded the battery from 75Ah to 100Ah which has helped compensate small losses. Had odd occasions when the alarm randomly beeps although the engine is running and even beeping when I've stopped the engine and opened...

Programming a replacement remote fob on a 3.0TD version Colorado

I recently had two transponder fold away key spares made by Murray Storm (he also new provided keys for my Subaru) and could not get either the keyless entry or ignition sequence to work then remembered my Collie came with two keys. Having swapped over my original keys It looks as though both...

    LAR 4x4

She's back. Wow, didn't think I would miss driving the old bus so much. Engine rebuilt from a reconditioned 1KZ Hilux and original 1KZ lump by LAR4x4 down in Sussex. Seems strange to have to 'run in' a 24-year old vehicle :grinning: Had some new side steps made by them while in the shop, oh well...

    LAR 4x4

@Ronaldo60 My Collie passed its MOT after being off the road just shy of a year. Its been with LAR4x4 since April and Adam is adding some bar protection under the sills, hopefully I'll be able to bring her home very soon. Not cheap but basically a near full engine rebuild plus sort rear diff...

It's a long story but finally there's light at the end of the tunnel. Just received these pics from LAR 4x4.... hopefully will be happy as a pig in sh*t soon. Been off the road since last September. Even the 'reconditioned' engine I obtained was a crock of shite. Had a damaged/unconditioned...

    Stolen catalytic converter, cat delete?

@karl2000 it has to be removable but sufficient to cause enough delay that its a deterrent. No different to security lockers on wheels really.

Mid section protective plate? Anything to deter/delay so they'll move onto something else.

My 99 Colorado 1KZ-TE doesn't have a CAT think only the later D4D has one.

    Engine rebuild advice needed

@Iwan thanks for this, makes a lot of sense with what I am seeing. The recon engine is using all the ancillaries from the original engine so there is no spare, sorry. I have an oil dipstick and tube from a hilux but the feeder hits the sump which is shaped for my front transmission. This why I'm...

    Engine rebuild advice needed

Bit of a long story but I'll cut to the chase. My 1KZ-TE cylinder head is cracked in three places and has couple damaged pistons. Had the engine removed and obtained recon engine for replacement however the replacement engine was out of a 4Runner and whilst similar does have some differences...

    Who had windows tinted ?

I used this stuff on my 90 Car Window Tinting Sun Protection | Tinting for over 4,500 cars - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club] Before and after, back 5 windows I think from memory was £125. I only needed to cut out for the high level stop/brake light. Not best pics sorry.

@Tractionman I missed the last meet at Fotheringhay as had no wheels and its only 15 miles away. Now the weather is picking up I want to plan stuff but can't, so frustrating. Anyway, looks as though the replacement is out of a 4Runner which still doesn't help really. Its horrible when you've got...

    Toyota Engine codes and models

Afternoon all, my Collie is still in the shop after nearly 4 months and I'm at a loss with options. I have a 1KZ-TE (Eng No. 1KZ-0703066) and obtained a reconditioned unit (Eng No. 1KZ-0152708) which at first appeared ok. However, the dipstick aperture is on the left instead of the right so I...
