    M.O.T time!

My last tester asked me how much I wanted for it, he'd just bought a Disco and was putting it straight back on ebay after driving it home

    LJ70 Build Thread!

The only reason for mentioning the existing pre-heat system is because it does make a big difference to the smooth running when it's cold, not just the ease of starting. I'm sure there are enough KZJs on here that can identify what wire goes where etc to help you along, there aren't many trick...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

You'll find something suitable from a ships chandlers supplier. Not cheap stuff but excellent quality. I've run the cbales to my roof lights through deck fittings, no leaks and a neat finish.

    LJ70 Build Thread!

You could do worse than copy the look of Rogers back bumperettes Ben ;) Doesn't the surf have the same pre-heat and after-heat system as the KZJ or didn't the donor come with all the bits? Maybe I missed something but why the need to fit an X-brake in the 1st place? Was it the availability...

    The alternative to a snorkel

Yes Roger, having driven stages where the water is up to the dashboard for 1/2 a mile, I can confirm that the car won't survive for years and years. :? Most engine aqualocks seem to be from casual wading or even high speed splashing with a conventional air intake or nutters who don't mind...

    The alternative to a snorkel

So you finally got it finished then Roger? You're right, it was probably around 2 years ago that you dropped this idea into my build thread :D I didn't respond at the time because I couldn't decide if it was a good or bad idea. To jump on the bandwagon a bit 1st, forward facing snorkels don't...

    New to the forum

Sorry Gav I don't believe you and if you want a row about I'm ready :D :D :D Unfortunately the cruiser hasn't been very many places yet. After the build was completed for the truck and then the trailer I was offered the Dakar which was in need of some major surgery and then sort of got into...

    New to the forum

Just a quick hello now that I've found you  I'm Jon (jonkem), the lucky owner of a 1994 KZJ70, official UK car, totally standard trim apart from the several thousand modifications (and several thousand pounds). Some of you will know me from other forums that I won't mention but alll...

    Are my batteries charging properly?

I think that on my 70 the + terminal on the front battery is a link to the + terminal on the back battery. In normal use they work as one big battery so with a broken link you have just one battery working. It still wouldn't be the end of the world if the one working battery was man enough for...
