Trying to find out the oil spec for a 1hz engine, I'm thinking 15w/40 semi synthetic, all so is it the same oil filter as an 80
Thanks David

It's worth looking at the land cruiser club of South Africa's website for some info relating to the 1hz. There is also a wealth of information on the 1hz troopy.

I'm using 10/40 semi-synth in my HZ, seems to like it. We do have it cold in the winter (-15C to -20C) which is why I stay with 10/40 not 15/40.

I can't really advise though, just passing on the advice I get.

I've been running Morris's Multivis (semi synthetic) for years in both my 80 and mk1 Shogun before that and really rate it. Give Morris Lubricants a call and they will happily advise you. Might even be on their website.

Thanks for the help, I have changed the oil and put in 15/40 with a new genuine filter

15-40 is fine or the English climate. I use 20-50 in Australia. There is a temperature range graph showing the appropriate oil in the FSM. Its fairly flexible , you could use 15-40 almost anywhere.
