Just lift the alloy pipe off your throttle body to have a look a the butterfly , 4 nuts its a 2 minute job and if its clean then you can rule it out

I had problems with my d4d throwing up all sorts of faults and spluttering as if it a fuelling issue... eventually found one of the earth straps was corroded through, was fine after that.

Dave as you have been running wvo check the filters in the fuel pump.
