50yr old Morris Minor 2750 miles from new

I had a 1954 Traveler Chas. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Much better after I fitted a 950 cc engine, remote gear change/tranny tunnel and rear diff. Original engine was 803 cc and big ends went every Saturday. The original gear lever was as long as a golf club and the original diffs used to crack apart every Sunday. All good fun though.

Same engine and box in my 1955 A30 Frank, till the midget 1071 went in...

Just checked my car records, my Traveller was a 1971.

I see the seller has dropped the starting price from £10k down to £7995, if I had that much sitting around on the mantelpiece I'd have it......

I bet you still have to lean under the bonnet and whack the electric petrol pump when the engine stops.:icon-biggrin: Never owned one myself but worked for a guy who had one converted into a truck, it was used to pick up small metal engineered parts that were outsourced, his name (in case he is reading this) was Derek and the trucks name was 'Jed', loads of character.

It is not really 'my thing' but still tidy enough to have sitting the garage.

regards

Dave

Oh yes! I remember that, I used to drive it up the kerb, gently of course, to give it a jolt.

 Ha, ha, serves you right for being posh having a later model, the early ones had the mechanical petrol pump running off the cam off the side of the block.

On my A30, I used to replace the diaphragm quite regularly, one screw on the top, easy to reach and just a few bob from the local car parts shop.
