Little known fact that Toyota employed the same development techniques that Supermarine used when working out what areas on a Spit needed flush rivets and what could be domed rivets that were cheaper and easier to use..... Supermarine stuck split peas to flush rivets on the fuselage of a spit and then test flew it and it lost a huge amount of performance ..... they then gradually removed them to find the areas that had no affect .... this prototype 80 was pictured in the early days of development . ;-)
