Been suffering with it in my fingers and Knuckles for a while now, The pain is unbearable, More so at night when trying to sleep.. Im suffering at work , Cant hold spanners / welder etc for too long, ... Its Pissing annoying. Thought some of the more seasoned members had a remedy, Old wives tale Cures etc.. Doctor says wear and tear. (That helps)..... Any Idea's...:character-oldtimer:

They say Apple Cider vinegar helps. There’s a supplier in Norfolk sends out a dozen bottles at a time. Mixed with honey and warm water makes for a palletable drink in the mornings. There’s loads of stuff on youtoob but it seems diet makes a lot of difference. It’s in my family with my mum and aunt. Avoid wrapping carrier bags round your fingers would be something my mum would say.

I’m not looking forward to old age if arfur itis comes along with me.

Cheers Rich... So basically get pissed on Cider and remain that way.... Mmmm! could work.. Im loaded up on Codeine most of the time So to add Cider to the equation could be interesting... Shame i gave up drinking 2yrs ago..

I suffer with it in the two remaining fingers i have left on my hand, really helps !!
i have heard that ( don't laugh ) WD40 helps, not tried it though, niffs a bit i should imagine

Higgy could give Tiger balm or Voltarol a spin depending on amount of pain may have to apply more often

As star Cruiser states.

Or I sell Maxx4 cbd. Ive been on it for around 9 months now. Feel fee to drop me a pm if you want to know anything.

I'm just shy of 47 and was told i had arthritis and osteoporisis in my leg due due to injury when i was 28 . I've probably broke every bone in both hands several times and my right hand doesn't even look like my left because i never went to hospital with it .

Copper bracelets work .

No pain at all shayne?

Ill have to look into those.

What's pain Karl , they told me once because its chronic it will find its way though even morphine after a time . But that was then when they were still operating on me and stuff for the injuries but thats whe i started wearing them and this thread made me think about my hands which still function perfectly well and don't give me any grief at all .

Had this convo with my surgeon who is the kind of specialist surgeons refer patients to when they know they are beat . I laughed to see him wearing them on my next visit "we don't know everything yet" was his reply to me taking the piss lol

My mother was told she had rheumatoid arthritis in 1987, and probably bbe in a wheelchair in 5-7 years. She still has it, along with Lupus, and Fibromyalgia (some docs don't believe in it, but it's real enough) but no wheelchair in sight 30 years on. She also worked damn hard for most of those running a hotel restaurant and a bread bakery. She tried all sorts, medical, dietary, faith, even a chap who sorts out lame cattle (and people) but the only thing she has seen have an effect was the CBD oil... It doesn't completely remove the aches, but it calms them and makes them more predictable and tolerable.

If you think arthritis is a pain in the arse, you've got the wrong diagnosis!!

Fish oil is supposed to be good for joint pain, salmon has the highest content by miles.

I use to wear copper bracelets when i worked down the Mines, Because our Hands were constantly wet with running water.. All the old timers would swear by them ... At Snap time they would all sit there rubbing them Getting A high Polish!.... I just thought they were Mental......Still got mine somewhere Il dig it out..

I've had it for years. There is no cure apart from topical applications of anti inflamatory gel or oral tablets., and that's just a therapy really. People try things and think they work but arthritis flares up and dies back on it's own accord. My knees are so painful I can't go up or down stairs some days. Bad motor bike crash when I was 16. Light excersise is vital to keep the joints mobile. Also flex joints to their maximum movement, with light force, 3 times a day.

Agreed Frank its a rusty hinge that has its owns barometer .

Copper bracelets will not offer short term relief , like as not you will wonder why you bothered buying them , but when you have worn them for years you will soon regret taking them off .

My gandfather died maybe 30 years after he was booked in for a hip replacement he never got , he wore 4 copper bracelets wrist and ankle . He was forced to retire in hs late 70's but two weeks later got a job "delivering medicine to the old people"

If it works for you Shayne continue. I have it in my hips too. Sometimes very painful at night, oh and my shoulders. Fingers nice and strong though.

Found my old Copper Bracelet.... Christ i use to wear this in the 80s... Got it on now, All polished up... Hope your right Shayne... It was like finding an old friend, I think it cost about 30p back 'int' day

Arthritis is a dreadful torture on us old uns, I have heard of a couple of “remedies,” please note I am not a doctor and am only reporting what friends have said.
1) A good friend of mine insists it was regular dose of pure cod liver oil that got rid of his elbow pain.
2) another takes glucosamine, ( ex rugby coach) he works as a full time mechanic, he says this works for him.
3) another insists that regular intake of fresh cherries or pure cherry juice staves off the torture
4) another ( sadly now passed away, age 80 plus) also endorsed the copper bracelet or magnet therapy
5) my own father now deceased had hand problems, he had nodules on his finger joints, terrible pain, he had been a barber all his life and he got rid by taking lemon juice of a morning half hour before taking anything else, it worked for him, I saw it.
Me? I’ve had four ( 4) hip replacements, one in the left ( 24 years ago) and 3 in the right. Now out of pain, None of the above “remedies” seemed to work for me or relieve the pain. So I have sympathy for you with your suffering, hope something works for you.
Finally, it’s no crime to be old, just a dreadful inconvenience, Best regards to all, Bill Westley
