Bitterly disappointed. Another 80 viewing

Heavens, don't worry about that Yogi. I think it's probably an end to it, but still just need to wrap up the 'relationship' with them just in case for some reason the chap decided to off load it very cheap having seen the lie of the land. In that case, I might be tempted to buy it just to drive for a bit. I really liked it.

Meanwhile back on Planet Earth...

I do want a blue on JM. Err it IS blue. It's as blue as a sort of blue thing.

Agh i thought you were also interested in the one that's just gone on , the silvery coulered one for £9250

If anyone misses out in the stampede for that one I have an identical one 95/M which will be coming on the market soon, similar money too!! and I guarantee it will be a mile better than that one.

I have had this cruiser for 16 years and am considering selling it due to lack of use and there is a 100 series on an 04 plate in the village I am seriously considering so I may have to let it go to help finance the sale. The cruiser is as good as it looks inside and out and mechanically too.

Pete it's been at £11995 for nearly a month. But that STILL isn't what I paying.

Andy, it would be such a shame to see A1 go. I think you may have to insist on written applications from people stating why they should be allowed to own it. Just a shame it's not blue

Far too many oil leaks Andy....arf arf !

Yes Chris, you're right, it would be a shame to see it go,but I don't use it, and the attraction of moving up to a 100 series does appeal. The 100 is a one owner car, in the right colour, a kind of slate grey, I believe it is the 5 speed auto box ( if someone can clarify) and I think moving upwards is a good move.
Taking everything into account we did the right thing leaving the blue one behind, it just wasn't a straight truck.
lets see what happens, if the 100 doesn't come I'm ok with that, I'm not actively seeking one, just that one and if it does then someone gets a great Cruiser.
I wonder if a club member bought the low mileage red GX that was for sale in London last week or even viewed it?

Well the knob of a dealer rang me up today. He was rude really. Couldn't understand how I could spend 2 1/2 hours looking at a vehicle and then not buy it. So it's my fault? I couldn't understand how he could be selling a vehicle for that money claiming it to be virtually mint with a bashed in roof and front end that's been badly rebuilt. Again he said I was being over fussy as was everyone else who had looked and not bought it. Hello, massive clue there. I'd said in an e mail that I wasn't perusing the car any further but if things changed at his end - such as it was fully restored and the seller came to his senses, he could contact me and I'd be 'interested'. He ranted on about the scratches in the roof (hmm, loose tiger in Berkshire methinks) and the slight gap at the front door (forgetting the gap at the scuttle, bonnet and the half inch misalignment over the headlights) and how he'd said they'd be put right. The guy selling it (local bloke) isn't a car dealer he said which is why he'd stayed out of the conversations. No, I said and you're not a body repair specialist, so why would I take your word that it could repaired? He wanted me to buy it for the price agreed and then it would be fixed. Err no, you fix it and if it checks out, I'd consider it - as a repaired car. His view again was that you don't get many 15 year old vehicles that haven't been repaired to a degree. Well repaired maybe but that doesn't mean crashed!!!! Sure a car collects dints and dings along the way and I don't mind that. As long as they're not shocking, but work to the degree that has been carried out on this one is not age related. That could happen to a brand new car - but I'd still want it straight after a repair. Is it me?

My cruiser outside is worth £12 k in mint condition. So I want £12k for it. I know it's not mint, but it could be, so it's £12k. Buy it and I shall have all the work done. Trust me it will be perfect. What no offers, well how queer.

What a dick.

Never met anyone in sales who had less idea of how to deal with a customer. Not since Woolworths closed. The reason we were there for that time was that it was a 300 mile round trip and we didn't find the issues for some time partly because he lost the key and we had to wait to get the thing outside. There was no apology for wasting my time! It's a nice car and fixed I'd pay good money. Unfixed, I wouldn't touch it - unless it was hugely reduced. Which I know isn't going to happen. I just can't figure his logic. For sale for a lot, but now he knows it's not right, it's still the same price the issues are so slight that they don't affect the value. So if I want it unfixed there'd be no drop in price?

What happened to 'I can really see you in this car, what do we have to do to get you in there?'

So that's an end to that I think. Feel free to go and waste your time on him. A few grand less than I'd agreed and I might have had it to drive for a bit.

Chris

Want me to go and p*ss on his gates on my way home from work? :shhh:

Sounds like you wanted it to , should have taken him to a body repair shop on the test drive and said i will pay the price minus whatever quote we get here , that might might have taken the wind out of his sails a bit .

No, go and spend 2 hours looking at it, take it for a drive to the pub, say you really like it then happen to look on the roof and then point out the gaps in the panels and walk away.

Chris

Surprised if they sell any cars at all with that sort of sales pitch.

Not to mention that half the time I pass by they appear to be closed.

It's virtually next door to them after the cafe. Yes, I have been in the past ad it was locked up. It's a funny outfit.

Chris

It would be interesting if someone went to look at it. And said, had much interest? As I did. I got told a tale of two other viewers. Next person is going to get three stories, the latest about 2 time wasting chaps who spent 2 hours looking and didn't buy it. Next question - Oh why? Let's see if they say, well the battered roof and poor front repair. I'll bet they don't.

I thought it was the place in Woolhampton, on the left as you head towards Newbury not in Beenham...

Take it to Wigmore's in Bradfield, he does body repair and the Queen's Head is nearly opposite...
