Hi folk (trying to escape the hoss jumping on tv) brake pads.....what is the best buy with standard discs (providing they are ok)?
My brake warning light came on last week and the level was low, so topped it up and no light now [emoji4] so as there are no visible leaks i presume pads need a change. I have ordered a set of stainless braded hoses to help feel & performance but need some pads. Any advice/experience?

Can't offer advice Steve but when the time comes for me to change i will go for Brembo disks and pads just because it's a name i know and respect .

I've put EBC yellow stuff on their plain discs and I have to say the difference over Toyota is…not an awful lot! I would say they're dusty so I'm guessing they won't last aeons. I tried Ferodo on the factory discs and they squealed like crazy. Best I've had so far all round have been Toyota, but the EBC are as good at braking the truck. Difficult to tell unless I try them in quick succession or trial scientifically.

Gen toyota pads are pretty good and I think Simon Holton still has a deal on for brakes so worth giving him a ring.

I don't suppose there is any point in mentioning yet again just how good the new generation Milner pads are. No? Thought not.

You could always come and try my 3 tonne plus truck on 35's and see how well it stops on these. Plus they are so cheap it's a no brainer to even try them.

I put gen Toyota disc and pads on from Simon and got to say there great think they was on offer all for about £100 inc vat and delivered thanks again Simon what a bloke.

Have asked Simon for a price - Cheapest I can find for copy set is 149 pounds!

fingers crossed, even if I dont need them I will get some from Simon if price is as good as that!

Got to remember they was an offer they had on steve hence why I snapped them up when I did.

confirmed 99.99 pounds per set, front or rear (Discs and Pads) + delivery - he is on hols now but back after xmas.

Cheers chaps

Can't go wrong at that price, just got some rear mintex pads for mine hopefully get them on tomorrow as down to marker

Another vote here for the Genuine pads, they seem to last forever as well compared to anything else I've used. I've used Mintex before, worked well, just didn't last as long!

One day someone is going to come along and say. 'I've just put some Milner pads in and they're fantastic' and everyone will do the say and say oh yes well done aren't they great and so damn cheap.

And then I'll be able to say "I've been trying to tell you that but you didn't listen"

These are not the shite pads that they used to sell that were as fast wearing as a block of cheddar on a grater. It's a newer formula. They don't leave black dust everywhere and for my money brake much better than anything I've used. I ran EBC then Genuine then these all in a row. I have them on both 80s now. Out of all the pads I tried, oddly I thought the OEMs were the worst. Maybe I have just got my brakes set up spot on.
