Does this switch look oem from new or added aftermarket at later stage? I think aftermarket, but would appreciate opinions. If standard can anyone tell me what it does?
It has 3 skinny wires going to it, red, white, and a black.

Looks like aftermarket to me as I think all factory switches are of a rounded design what does it control ie rear fog light or aftermarket lights

My guess is aftermarket to run one of those orange flashing men at work light?

I don't know what it controls. It's spliced into one of the wires at the brake pedal switch using a style of scotch lock, but it's not your typical generic scotch lock, it's a little wind coloured one, I've never seen one like it which makes me think it's oem. Also when I follow one of the other wires out of it it goes to a little connector block that half looks oem too so I'm not sure. It's not my truck and owner doesn't know either.

Connector block will be a relay which fits well with a flashing amber on the roof .

Definitely not OEM IMO. It's just a generic rocker switch mounted into an OEM blank. As suggested, probably some sort of external lighting, hence the need for an illuminated switch.

Those type of switches where used to control rear fog lamps on import Toyota’s to comply with regs. My Surf had one which I changed to an OEM one to match all the others.
