Hello all,

Although I don’t have a DRL position on the steering light switch stock arm, I would like to add some sort of daytime driving / running lights in the place that currently holds the amber colored lenses which are not wired at this time on my ARB bumper. I would remove them and install the new lights in that bumper location.

These new lights I will control with an AuxBeam controller.

Any suggestions or conversations on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have a look at the 135AWME by LED autolamps. These are an indicator DLR combo and fit perfectly in my ARB bumper.

I did have an issue with water ingress as you can see in the picture but this was easily solved with thin bead of silicone.

Why does a day time light need a switch at all ? wire it to brakes/wipers/cig lighter/whatever so it comes on and goes off with the ignition .

If you don't want the indicator then the 135WM should meet your needs. I quite like the smaller 4 led arrangement. As the other have said you shouldn't need to use a switch for these. Easy enough to wire it to the ignition accessory port by the main battery.

There is another option, change out your amber lenses for clear ones and wire the lights you have as above.

Reminds me i want to fit a rock light under my truck because twice i've had to mount the pavement when an oncoming driver under estimated the width of my truck in the dark .

Thanks all for the reply.

A few of you mentioned wiring direct to a IGN on circuit which would work as you described. However I’d still like it on the AuxBeam as I can program it to come on with ignition, however power it off should I want that option as well.

Looking into those LED suggestions from Rosy. Thanks for that!
