A friend of mine and his family are flying to Venice today and his flight was on the runway just about to take off when it was aborted.

Pilot told them there appeared to be a small problem and then updated them to say there was not enough fuel to get them there!

Taxied back for a 'top up' for the fuel truck! Should this not be a pre flight check.

I seem to recall a story about a Malaysian Airlines flight that ran out of fuel as it taxied from the runway to the passenger terminal just after it landed....
