Possibly. Z’s now too old to travel and I’ve not the funds and I might have alternative living so I might consider selling as it’s a bit wasted sat doing nothing much or being a ‘daily’ but we’ll see I can’t think what else I’d want to drive!

New member here. Living in Greece and looking to buy my first Land cruiser! And i'm thinking this exact engine and somewhat similar interior build.
Firstly i was looking on 1HZ engine but i quickly understand that i cant bring it in Europe, especially Greece. Greece has a restriction that only accepts Euro 4 and above. The first registration tax is quite high for a used and a new car. You have to buy a very old vehicle in order to have a very reasonable first registration tax.
So i found out about this 78 series with the 1GR FE engine that makes Euro 6d. I found it in Italy/France/Switzerland/Netherlands/Germany. It goes from 60k-75k brand new 2024 model.
I would like to know about fuel consumption, annual vehicle tax and overall experience. You can hit me up anytime in private of course. Did you end up selling your rig?

I don’t really monitor fuel consumption but it seems to be much the same as the 1VD and 1HZ. My truck is at gross weight, roof conversion etc and on the run through Germany at 80mph I got 25mpg. running around back roads and traffic in town here I get around 20mpg.

I had an FJ Cruiser with the 1GR before the Troopy. If you read early posts here you’ll see more but I like the engine, it’s reliable and plenty of power and torque for my needs , I did have the FJ remapped but more for gearing on the auto than for more power, the 78 is stock and I’m happy.

It is advertised for sale but I’m not actively trying to get rid of it, would part with it for the right money.
