Firstly I fitted the snorkel, fairly straight forward just a couple of mounting bolts didn't line up with the template so a few adjustments and i was sorted.

Then i tackled the BEB's, all went well it looks like they have been changed or just well maintained but i thought it was a bit of a waste doing them. Better safe than sorry though. They all show slight markings but number 3 does have a scratch all the way round (nothing on the crank though).

Those shells don't look too bad. The scratch could've been a bit of grit or swarf that got trapped in there. No evidence of the de-laminating that many have suffered but, as you say, well worth doing for peace of mind. Where the old shells OE or aftermarket ACL"s or similar?

They were OE one's But i have put ACL one's back in. I have just been through the service history and there is no mention of them been done so I didn't think they were bad for 190k on them

Well done Andy, at least you can sleep well at night for the next 100k

Mine were also in similarly good condition when changed at 320k km.

I had a similar 'groove' in one of mine but the crankpin was unmarked.......
