Been whittling away for the last few days on these, the white one is what i had to copy from or close ish.

They look great, I wish I was good with wood. when we lived on an old river ferry my missus wanted some old rustic looking shutters over the windows... so I collected old pallets and sanded and planed and nailed.. but when I finished them they looked like id made some shutters out of old Pallets. Im Crap with wood.. The Dovecotes look fantastic.( If that's what they are)

Vents I think aren’t they JM?

Things of absolute beauty there’s no doubt. It’s details like these, costly to make though I’m sure they are, that make buildings individual and gladden the heart when they meet the eye.

I struggle making a Pallet out of a Pallet to be fair Clive... I admire the skill of folk like JM. Look like proper Hard wood too ,'Them Vents'...

Beech I think, from the colour and the close grain.

I could be wrong though.

Hmmm, not sure Bob, doesn’t Beech have flecks in it and attract beetles? Are they in Sapele perhaps?

Spot on, Sapele it is.

Also Beech is for internal use, wouldn't last five minuets in the situation where these are going.
