Hi all, took the cruiser out for a drive in the sunshine on Sunday and also gave it a clean.
When at full throttle over 2k RPM the turbo boost light was flashing up. Never really stayed on but went on and off under harder acceleration. First thing I will do is change the air filter as I bought one as part of a full service but haven’t fitted it yet. If that doesn’t solve it next step will be to look at the waste gate pipes, actuator and valve. I’ve read that the pipes to the actuator can degrade/split so I’ll check that first. Then I can check the operation of the actuator/valve with a boost gauge.
Any tips on best way to access these parts? I can barely see the pipe from the turbo to the actuator and I can’t see the waste gate actuator from the top. Any guidance greatly appreciated.
