Replacing my 4.2 1HD-T 12 valve engine to 24 valve

Hello every one,

I need some help understanding how to replace the old 12valve Engine to a 24 valve engine.

I have a Toyota land cruiser -
Model- S-HDJ81V-RNPGX.
Frame- HDJ81-0040436
the original engine was strip down long time ago, I want to fit a new 24v Engine into the car preferable 1HD-FT or 1HZ and a new gear box complete set.
can any one please tell me if this is a good move or not?? or which engine should I go for, do I have to change the other bits and pieces of the truck??
also, where can I get the Engine and gear box cheaper. Thanks,

Where are you based?
Why not just buy or fix the 12v engine you have and keep the gearbox you have? That would be the cheapest fix.

Well I am based in Kenya at the moment.
The old Engine was scraped and to be honest I don't know where it is now.
I am looking for second hand good engine and a automatic gear box.
