Hi all
After years if nothing to really report the oil pressure has been apeearing to be rising the last few weeks. Needle Used to sit on the 2/3 mark when cold and about halfway when at operating temp. Now sits between 2/3 and the very top when cold and just below the 2/3 when at operating temp. Interestingly on tickover it's just a bit higher than it used to prior to this change in reading. I know the guages are not accurate but its this new behaviour that stands out as odd.
Did an oil change two days back as part of a service from 15/40 to 10/40 semi. No real change but now the oil pressure needle sits a bit lower on the gauge when at normal operating temp.
Any thoughts please? Oil pressure relief valve sprang to mind? If so Where would that be in the engine and are they prone to going faulty after just 19 years in service! Ha
Thank you
