Hello everyone, it's my first post long time follower, I have a swb 90 and I'd like to do some chassis repairs.
My question is does anyone have a how do or list of items/parts that has to be disconnected so I can lift the body off the chassis and leave engine and gearbox in place. Any help or tips would be great. Thanks again

Front and rear bumpers , radiator , disconnect steering column and brake lines . clutch feed to the slave , handbrake cable from lever . Gearstick boot . Unplug all the loom connectors .

I've never done it just thinking my way through it and theres bound to be stuff i've missed but bumpers , radiator and steering shaft are about the only concern when doing a 2" body lift .

I would suggest starting as if thats what you were doing , undo body mounts and jack up one side of the truck a couple of inches and then same with the other side . Then you have a clear view of whatever else might foul .

What repairs are you doing? Do you really need the whole body off? You can lift the back half of the body enough to get a Mig torch on top of the chassis. Pop off the rear bumper then "just" unbolt the body mounts and jack the body. Front half doesn't tend to rot much.

Thanks for all the reply, I'm just doing repairs to rear chassis the top shock mount plate small cross tube repair and rear driver chassis and cab mount, I just thought it'd be easier to remove the cab and have full access. Then treat the chassis for future protection

It would be easier to do the welding if you take the body off. But you can save a lot of time just lifting the back half enough to do what you want to do. I've done spring mounts (shock mounts are even easier) and tube cross member without any lifting. That said I don't have a post lift / telehandler, etc so lifting the whole body has never been a sensible option for me.

OK thanks Rob, I have a two post lift but I might try it your way and see first, how high do you reckon you got it lifted by just lifting the rear?

I've got my 120 (very similar) with a length of 4"x4" wood between chassis legs and body at the moment (to support the body more evenly than with a jack) which gives me room to use the MIG torch. So at least 4".
