I'm sick of messing with these things and so i would like 3 fobs repaired and 3 cloned fobs to match sooooo -

Any recommendations ?

On what system Shayne, you know you can do this yourself? If it's the TVSS system, just buy fobs off e bay and programme them to your alarm. I've done several. Did one only a month ago for Mr Lomas.

I didn't know that Chris and would i be right in thinking all Cruisers are TVSS ?

I scanned ebay quickly looking for a service so seen a few of these i think but dismissed them as cheap china toys but then i suppose its not much different to setting up a universal tv remote so any pointers appreciated

I have a pair of these fobs complete with instructions, ive never used them, there from the US and are "reconditioned" let me know if your interested.

Chris, What's the programming sequence? I did one few years ago but forgot, it was relatively easy if memory serves me well

You need to access the alarm module and press a little button with a pen. Within two second I think, you press both buttons on the remote and that syncs it with the unit. You repeat for each fob. It totally does work.

Mine was a tenner on ebay. Even came with a new battery.

I can't find one that looks reasonably sturdy is all but something like that that you need to hold it in your hand before you can assess it .

The above company won't quote for for replica's until they have the original fobs so the can look at the circuit boards .

Do they look like these Shayne?

Yes i have bought a few of them over the years just to swap and change parts now i just want new and be done with it ?

Plenty of decent looking ones on the Bay. These were just the first I saw. If you're wanting new Shayne, I'd suggest ripping out the old one and getting a mobile fella to fit a full new alarm with modern fobs. Been pleased with mine on the overlander. You could go to lots of trouble only to have the alarm pack up

I bought a new TVSS3B ECU with 2 new fobs from Toyota, must be 10 years ago now, for £160 inc fitting. The TVSS system was getting on a bit then and must be quite low tech by todays standards, plus I find the range of the fobs isn't that great. Parts for them have not been available new for some time. I managed to source a good 2nd hand TVSS sounder (from an Avensis) a couple of years ago when the original packed up. If it ever packs up altogether I'll be doing as Chris suggests and ripping the whole thing out and fitting a modern alternative. I'll certainly not be paying someone to do it.If you can read a wiring diagram you can fit an alarm, it's not that difficult. I fitted one to my old 4x4 Sierra with a full array of sensors and full closure of electric windows and sunroof etc on arming. JMO
