Down here in the south of Spain, we occasionally get news of the Sahara and today they showed film of people skiing down the snow covered dunes.
Last night it snowed in the Sahara for only the third time in the last forty years.

When were the last two? What happened after each time I wonder?
And who the hell has skis on hand in the Sahara?

I remember that in Libya you could rent skis, to ski down the high dunes in erg Ubari.

A lit of the hotels and campsites around the dunes in Morocco have skis and snowboards available for sliding down dunes as well.

:doh:I should have thought of that.

Great,

I had skis with me in Qatar, but that was only ‘cos I had a ski holiday booked in Val d’Isere to go to...
