Sunroof queries

Hi there , used to post on the 90 section but have since upgraded ( personal opinion ) to an 80 series , I’ve had a bit of free time to look a bit deeper into parts , was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the 3 plugs under the centre console are for , and the main thing , did these come with manual sunroofs as I have managed to open the glass about 5mm by “ unlatching” 2 “ clips “ ( really not sure how to describe it ) and slicing the top of my finger off in the process , don’t really want to push it and break anything, any help is much appreciated thanks

Your sunroof doesn't sound like an OEM fitment. You don't say what year or model your 80 is but UK spec VX 80's came with a power sunroof with the buttons on a panel in the roof.
The 80 series has a base wiring loom that is common to all models to facilitate different options in different markets. The plugs under the centre console in yours are probably for an option not fitted.

The only variation from the VX factory fitment I've seen are the ones fitted to the "GS" models which I think were dealer fitted. As I recollect opening them didn't involve blood loss.

I was worried it would require a blood sacrifice each time and was running out of fingers , I don’t suppose you have any idea “ how much “ they open or how to use them properly do you ? I’ve searched high and low And can’t find any images or videos

My bad , it’s a 1995 and I’m not sure what trim it is in all honesty not sure how to tell

The plugs under the center console (on the floor) are usually for the heated seats and center console fridge.

Thanks , I didn’t even know these had an option for a fridge , might be worth looking for one

If its a 95 it could be a UK spec VX or GS, the sunroofs are different on each or it could be a grey import, I take it its a diesel?

At year 95 only JDM imports could possibly have a fridge but it's rare, the 12V imports ( pre 95) quite often had a fridge in the centre console which worked from the air con system.

It is a diesel 24v , currently of the opinion it is an import as everything is written in what I presume is Japanese ,I will take a picture of it shortly, hopefully should help shed some light on, thank you

This is the sunroof , tada , and the 2 plastic tabs you can see on the sides are the things that snap forwards to allow it to move , I thought I’d ask here if anyone knows what’s meant to happen cos the last thing I want to do is push when I’m meant to slide and it go flying over the side and I’m left with a big hole in the roof
