Transmission issue

I have a 92 with automatic trans. when I shift from park to drive it shifts hard. when driving it shifts normal. When stopped and shift to reverse it shifts hard. Any ideas? Thanks

When you say "hard" do you mean the vehicle lurches/jumps ?

Sounds like the idle is a bit high possibly, might be up a bit on the hand throttle.

Does hard mean it goes into forward and reverse with a bump ? if so mine does the same and I got same year cruiser.
