So I get home today to see that my winter supply of fire wood has been delivered. but... the clown dropped it off in the middle of the road.

Not the brightest place to leave wood.

Quick call to Tony for some of his supa large straps, line up truck and winch away:

All lined up with the house

Previous owners of the house leave a beefy security eye on the wall so a snatch block on that allowed us to pull the bundle up off the road and onto the drive.

Two bundles now up on the drive where they should have been

All good fun and the neighbours looked a bit happier...
Thanks for the help Tony.

Some things learned:
Handbrake does not work when back tyres on shingle
Need new batteries. I don't think they did much this evening. Will go for a free battery test and see. They only about 2.5 years old and have a 3 year warranty from Mr-T.
Need the protective sheath for the rope (Chris - where did you get the one on LB from?)

Firewood delivered on pallets  very surburban ;)

Get yourself a trailer and you can get it for free.

Out of interest how much does that cost?

no one delivers here by the truck load, I would happily take it.
For 2 x 1.6m3 it was £240 I think. Such a rip off....

tippytrailer even better!
what type of wood?

Winching wood hidden in polywrap under the cover of darkness? I don't buy it Crispin. Clearly this is a covert Billtong smuggling operation with the 2 dodgiest SAFA's on the forum  :law-policeblue:

You did soak your rope in salt water for 24 hours before you used it, yes? Tell me you didn't just use it straight off. :naughty:

Chris

Is that your Rangey in the background that you have everyone fooled into thinking you have a 120?????? :o

Nooooo, that be the neighbour's.

Does it taste better after the salt water?

Oh come on! I thought I'd reel Crispin in, but never thought I'd net a big fish like you! Soak yer rope in salt water?

Thanks but would rather get it from aberdeen, it comes with added lubrication.
