Well I guess toyota realised that being a work truck that console will be smashed frequently. Hence of not having it in the after models. i have decided to remove it. Since I was a kind of tired to see it smashed. And it does not look too bad!

It was the central exhaust box that was loose due to the supports and rubber seals being corroded and worn. Hence the noise was only at start/end of the engine or when the car was stop in neutral. As soon as you rev the car, then the frequency increased as a consequence the noise disappeared...

Thanks jim It was actually a toyota dealer who broke it, and they said they couldn't find a replacement in their database I think the part number is 58811A, I guess Karl is a member of the forum and I will try to find him to get hold of and find how my luck is. Cheers Marc

Hi there Now is even worse, the car went to the garage to fix a minor stuff and got the console broken in pieces. They have committed to pay for the replacement but of course the challenge is to find it. Anybody out there that would be keen to sell one in good condition?
