Saw a beautifully presented 90 this morning in Aberdeen. What a cracking looking Cruiser it was. I was in my 100 series which was the same colour of green. Anyway, compliments to the owner of the 90 if you read this.

Unfortunately neither Roughtrax nor Milners stock the stop light.

I am looking to replace my top tailgate stop light and notice that there are cheap Chinese copies for under £20. Given that a new one is about £175 from a Toyota dealer I wondered if anyone has any experience of the Chinese offerings.

What size/weight of trolley jack should I get for lifting my 100 series? Would the same apply to axle stands? Sorry to be thick about this but I always can rely on the advice from this forum.

My problem is that there are two types. Red and Pink. I need to know which one to use.

It's obviously a move by Aberdeen Council along with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee to cut emissions in city centres. LEZs are being introduced in these four cities next year. Believe it or not Europe's most polluted street is in Aberdeen City Centre.

I have just purchased four 16” OEM wheels and centre caps for £125. Ok the wheels will need powder coated but I was really chuffed with the asking price especially when it was a local sale so no delivery charges. Anyone else got bargain stories to tell ?

I just know I would mess up cutting a hole large enough and in the right place. My Cruiser is getting some paintwork done later this month. The body shop doing the work are also fabricators so I’ll ask them if they do work like this.

Thanks for the reply Andy. It has been rather pissing it down in the city as well as the shire. The Safari snorkel is certainly tried and tested. Did you fit it yourself or is there someone locally that knows how to fit these.

Thanks for the recommendation re batteries. I was wondering about getting Toyota batteries but if the Varta batteries are ok I may give them a go. The Cruiser is my only vehicle so I have to be kind to her.

I’ve got you my friend. As always many thanks. Starting has been a wee bit sluggish in the cold weather so I think the batteries may be starting to struggle. They are the same batteries that were in the Cruiser when I got her three years ago so I don’t know how old they are. Thanks again.

I was worried that I might lose the radio. I have the original setup and presume there is no codes. However, if it’s just unbolting both old batteries and bolting in new ones that’s great.

Is it a straightforward job to replace the batteries on the 100 series or do you lose more than the adjustable seat memory?

This is quite a difficult one to pinpoint. I thought that it sounded as if the squeak was being caused the wheel just catching the column. When I looked at the column surface where it meets the wheel there was a black deposit of some nature. Since I removed that the squeak has gone. It may...

Funnily enough the squeak isn't there today. The plot thickens!

It's only the lid that flies open. There is a bit of travel on the latch but it may well be the spring which is goosed as the latch doesn't come far enough forward. Is there a possible fix or is it a new lid?

That's great info. I can try to work a solution on the bottom part knowing that if I mess up I can always replace it cheaply. Thanks again!

Thanks again. I have leather seats which are a creamy colour. The lid matches the seats. I'll check to see if the bottom part is worn which may be the reason the lid doesn't catch and keeps opening.

The part on the lid doesn't go far enough forward under the keeper on the box. Does that make sense? My explanation is bit clumsy.

Sorry to be a pain. Do I need to buy the whole lid or is the catch available separately?

I was wondering if anyone has a squeaky steering wheel. Mine has a squeak as the wheel is turned. I can't see what the problem is and it's driving me crazy. On the plus side the trusty old gal sailed through her MOT.

I would be interested to know the solution to this problem as my cruiser displays these symptoms.

I've been reading about DPF problems on Hilux and Prados from 2015 onwards. It is a problem apparently in Australia and I wondered if anyone in the UK knows if it is a problem here.

You're right! It might be easier. So, I connect the pos from one of my batteries to the pos on the Peugeot's single battery. I then connect the neg from my other battery to the neg on the Peugeot. All will then be well

Thanks man. My immediate need is to give my son's Peugeot a jump as his battery is showing signs of giving up.

They will be connected as whatever way is standard. Dunno I'm afraid.

I haven't had a vehicle with two batteries before and so was looking for advice about the connections for jump leads as I don't want to fry anything. I'm also looking to buy a suitable set of jump leads so any recommendations would be appreciated.
