    A journey into a 40-series ownership

Right, I'm back after a long hiatus from this fine community. I have been silent and not been posting for a few years now. This wasn't by choice, but due to life getting in the wayand lack of spare time to spend time on the internet and typing uninteresting post :) As the title suggests, I am...

    Spare wheel tool wanted.

Hi all, I need to lower the spare wheel on the HJ60. But sadly the tool kit is missing from the truck. So is there anybody on here, preferably local who could lend me the tool set to lower the spare? I need it for next Saturday, so would be in position to return it on Sunday. Alternatively...

Set of 4 7Kx15 steel wheels with Hankooks

Hi Folks, I am selling a full set of wheels as previously fitted on my 60-series. I have now a set of original 16in on the truck so those are surplus to requirements. The wheels are 110mm centre bore and 5mm positive offset. Paint is ok, with some slight pitting in some areas. The tyres are...

    Gearbox oil specification

Can anybody recommend a grade oil manual transmission oil for my HJ60? The Toyota service/workshop manual only specifies "GL4 or GL5". Same question goes for the transfer box and differentials as the service manual is being equally vague on those too. Many thanks, Nick.

Glow plug selection for my HJ60

I think I have identified my cold start issue to be due to failed glow plugs. Both glow plug relays checked ok but I have no continuity on glow plugs, at least on # 1,2 and 3. I have not bothered checking the other 3 plugs because I think the plugs fitted were the wrong ones to start with...

    A journey into a 60-series ownership

Hi all, Having recently fulfilled a boy’s dream, I thought I’d start a thread on the “monster truck” as it has now been nicknamed. I was originally looking for a Defender 110, but after hunting for a decent one for the past 2 years, I decided to refocus on an old school Landcruiser instead...
