    Why own an old vehicle?

Hi Jacob, thank you, absolutely right, SIPS, as you don't care about anybody hitting you side on as they will come off worse. Yeah, I know we shouldn't and don't drive like this. Just a little side note, my son at the age of 20, scraped his Polo 1.1 and bought Volvo 480 ES (2 litre) same age...

    Why own an old vehicle?

It's great that there are some people still enjoy driving, and drive depending on their desire or need. I'm lucky, in that have an early Ducati Monster, sounds and looks great, doesn't always work (usually when it's raining which is great as I hate biking in rain). Also have a 78 Datsun 260Z (...

    Upgrading Front seats

Hi there, Have you thought of looking at Lexus seats? Being essentially a Toyota they may well fit directly? My previous 2 cars were GS range, seats extremely comfortable, and on the 2nd generation had air cooled functionality as well as various lumber support adjustments, might be worth a visit...

    Leather Seat Restoration

Thank you. Now I know what I'm doing I'll get a more accurate timing. The next seat has a nasty tare, about 7" long, so I plan to give an estimate on each part of the process. As for taking time, I prefer to do this than watch "I'm a celebrity ferret catcher in Outer Mongolia" .

    Leather Seat Restoration

Thanks Higgy, I didn't want a brand new look, so kept some of the shallow creases. The rips are a pain in the arse, there the ones that take time, need to cut out the "fluffy" edges which leaves a little gap which needs filler. In essence, if you've done body work, you can refurbish leather.

    Leather Seat Restoration

What I'll do is update the post as I refurbish the other seats, hopefully getting quicker, and an update in a year as to the state of the seats.

    Leather Seat Restoration

Hi Dave, From what I understand, you need to prep the leather, that includes removing the dirt and grim, and not just colour over. In addition, I wanted to fill in some of the deeper creases and had some minor rips that needed filling. Previous time I did this (just remembered), I did the wipe...

    Leather Seat Restoration

Hi Chris, Yes you can change the colour, easier to go from light to dark, but if you want to go dark to light you would probably have to strip back the original colour. I sent the headrest cover to Furniture Clinic so they could do an exact colour match.

    Leather Seat Restoration

The seats on my 80 are looking very tired and in need of some TLC, so the time has come to do some leather seat restoration, my first attempt. Apologies, but I never took pictures of the seat before (I will with the others), but the pictures shows the restored seat next to the unrestored (the...

New exhaust....to go 2.5 or 3 in?? Thoughts?

I have no experience on Land Cruisers, but for my sons 1971 MGB, we bought from Bell a complete stainless steel system including 3 into 2 into 1 manifold for £120 3 years ago. They do fabricate, they were going to do a system for my 260Z, and did a complete system for a friends Cresta. Maybe...

    Goodwood Breakfast Club 2018

Hi there, apologies no pics (forgot camera and phone). I did glimpse a land cruiser from afar, think it was a J60. Annoyed that we never got an invite, when there was a Toyota Privea, Corolla's (7-8 years old) and a few Toyota Alphards Tried to find out what the selection criteria was, but...

    James Baroud roof tents

Hi there, Interesting that you are thinking of buying a tent. I spent many a night in roll down tent from the side of landy, and good friend converted the back of his truck to beds, no faffy around, just pull up, kettle on, chair out and took the Micky out of me pitching a tent. So will see what...
